Simple Dechorination Guide

Greetings fellow Marimo owners, this is a simple guide on dechorination of water.  Chlorine is present in the tap water as it is mend to kill the germs and other harmful microorganism which cannot be filter out. Yet, high level of chlorine is harmful to both fishes and aquatic plants. Although using filtered water to keep Marimo is usually safe,  it is still a good idea to remove chlorine from the water. There are a few ways to remove chlorine from the water, either by chemical means or naturally.

​Anti-Chlorine conditioner

A convenient method used to remove chlorine is using anti-chlorine conditioners. This conditioners can be found on most fish stores and it is inexpensive. Usually, a cap full of chlorine is able to treat a 2 ft aquarium tank, but it varies among different brands of anti-chlorine conditioners, so check the labels carefully before using it.



Evaporation

This is the easiest way to remove chlorine from tap water. You just need to fill a bucket/container full of tap water and leave it in open air for a day or two , this allows the chlorine to evaporate from the water.
